Experience
David was the founding Director of Blackwell Consulting in 2001. David has in excess of 30 years experience in the real estate industry concentrated in property valuation and specialised consultancy. David has specific expertise and experience in;
- Valuation of specialised leasehold interests.
- Commercial lease and rent review negotiations.
- Valuations under provision of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
- Valuation of self storage properties.
- Expert evidence for litigation purposes.
- Valuation and negotiations for telecommunication installations.
David has previously held a senior Estate Management position with the Fiji Native Land Trust Board. David was a Director of the Arthur Andersen Real Estate Services Group in Sydney for 4 years. Prior to establishing Blackwell Consulting in October 2001, David was a Partner of Urbis Property Advisory, a valuation and town planning practice operating in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
David enjoys sailing in his spare time and is currently the Commodore of the Balmain Sailing Club.

Experience
Allan has been working at Blackwell Consulting since November 2006. Allan has extensive experience in property valuation, and specialised consultancy. Allan has been involved in the valuation process focusing on:
- Rent review negotiations and rental valuations for expert determination purposes.
- Specialist research projects in the property industry.
- Specialised valuations and management reviews for the Self Storage Industry.
- Premises selection and negotiation for acquisition of corporate real estate assets and transaction management for divestment of corporate real estate assets.
- Specialised valuations in the petroleum industry.
- Land Tax and Rating Value objections.
- Residential marina valuations.
- Valuations under provision of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
- Rental valuations of port facilities including the Port of Melbourne, Port of Brisbane and Port Botany.
Allan is currently undertaking his Masters Degree in Applied Finance.
Allan regularly participates in major offshore sailing events and enjoys sailing and golf in his spare time.
Ashleigh Roddan

Experience
Ashleigh joined Blackwell Consulting in August of 2009.
Since joining the Team, Ashleigh has been heavily involved in the creation of the Blackwell Storage Indices (BSI). Ashleigh focused on data validation, interpretation of results and writing of the first BSI publication. She was also a significant contributor to the 2010 Demand Study undertaken by Blackwell Consulting in conjunction with the Self Storage Association of Australia.
Ashleigh has also developed a significant expertise in Land Tax and Rating Value objections and rent review negotiations and rental valuations for specialised properties. This includes waste facilities and other specialised uses.
Ashleigh completed her Bachelor of Property Economics Degree with Honours at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2010. Her thesis focused on the social and economic impact of cemeteries on surrounding communities.
In her spare time, Ashleigh regularly enjoys bushwalking on weekends and the occasional hit of tennis.
Lauren van Aanholt
Consultant
Experience
Lauren joined the team at Blackwell Consulting in July 2010.Since this date, Lauren has been involved with multiple single and portfolio self storage valuations, she has also assisted with the valuations of other specialised properties including telecommunication facilities and properties within the petroluem industry.
Lauren plays an important role in the data collection, management and interpretation of results for the Blackwell Storage Indices (BSI).
Lauren is currently undertaking her Bachelor of Property Economics Degree at the University of Technology, Sydney. As part of the course Lauren has been invited to join the Honours program and is currently writing her thesis on the impact of coal mining operations on the value of neighbouring properties.
Lauren enjoys netball and tennis.
Caecilia Soetanto

Experience
Caecilia has been with Blackwell Consulting since the beginnings of the company and has been significantly involved with the evolution of the business since 2001.
Caecilia has significant experience of practice management, within Blackwell Consulting as well as other corporations. Caecilia manages compliance issues and risk management of the business; including insurances, professional development and OH&S practices. She also oversees both the day to day operations and finances of the business.
